At 07:44 on 17 April 2026 GMT+7, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, gave an interview at Military Airport 2, Wing 6, Don Mueang, Bangkok, before departing to inspect the southern border provinces. He said, "I had intended to visit the southern border provinces anyway, and since there are many issues to address, I’m taking this opportunity to oversee everything. I will see how we can resolve existing problems as quickly as possible."
When asked about multiple unrest incidents in the southern border provinces on the night of 16 April, the Prime Minister said he will go to the scene. Today, several ministers and military personnel are accompanying the delegation.
Regarding whether this visit will be an opportunity to clear up the controversy surrounding the 4th Army Commander, the Prime Minister said he will hold meetings with the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC) and the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC). He expects to receive more raw data today than what they currently have in Bangkok, covering intelligence, regional development, and budget allocation to facilitate convenience, prosperity, and opportunities for the people. .
