Kamolsak Thanks Prime Minister for Urging Rapid Progress in Shooting Case, Confident Police Will Reveal the Truth

Kamolsak, Member of Parliament for Narathiwat from the Prachachart Party, expressed thanks to Prime Minister Anutin for ordering a full acceleration in resolving the shooting case. He personally believes there is a mastermind behind the incident but is confident the police will uncover the truth.

At 12:50 p.m. on 17 April 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior along with Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport; Mr. Pradorn Prissanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office; Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office; and their delegation arrived at the residence of Mr. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council. They held a private meeting inside the residence, then shared a meal. Members of Parliament from the Prachachart Party were present to welcome them: Mr. Sulaiman Buannapin, MP for Yala Constituency 1; Mr. Sugano Matha, MP for Yala Constituency 2; Mr. Abdulayi Saemaeng, MP for Yala Constituency 3; and Mr. Kamolsak Leewamo, MP for Narathiwat Constituency 5. During the visit, Prime Minister Anutin also spoke with and offered encouragement to Kamolsak.

Meanwhile, Kamolsak gave an interview regarding progress in the case of the assailants shooting at a vehicle, saying I must thank the Prime Minister for instructing the relevant agencies to expedite the investigation to the fullest extent, which has led to arrest warrants issued for five suspects, with four already apprehended. The Prime Minister firmly emphasized that anyone found guilty must be brought to justice according to the law.

Based on the circumstances of the incident and the names of the five suspects for whom warrants were issued, I believe these individuals are merely the executors. I have never personally known any of them. Therefore, it is clear that there must be a mastermind or someone who commissioned this act behind the scenes. This is not only my concern but also a question raised by the local people who closely watch and ask who is behind this event.

Regarding the investigation to bring the mastermind to justice, I have gathered factual information obtained locally and submitted part of it to the Prime Minister and relevant agencies. However, pursuing charges against the mastermind requires solid evidence, especially forensic proof. I still have full confidence in the police’s capability and work to reveal the truth. The fifth suspect, Lieutenant Colonel Wiroj (Ketumanee), who acted as the gunman, remains at large. If authorities capture him and he willingly confesses details about the background and implicates who hired him, it will greatly aid the case’s development. Personally, I remain uneasy as long as the mastermind or the person who ordered this has not been arrested, but I am fully convinced that there is indeed a mastermind behind this case.
