The Deputy Spokesperson of the Prachachon Party explained in detail the issue of hiring "Specter C" to produce Facebook content, emphasizing that it follows the Election Commission's TOR and that every party has the right to use it.
On 17 April 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Phakamon Hun-anun, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prachachon Party, gave an interview clarifying the online suspicions regarding the hiring of Specter C company to produce promotional media on the party's Facebook page, which specified a cost of 7,000 baht per post. She affirmed that this process complies correctly with the criteria and conditions set by the Election Commission (EC).
Ms. Phakamon stated that these funds come from the “Political Party Development Fund,” which is money donated by the public through taxes and subsidies allocated annually by the EC to all political parties. To use this fund, parties must submit project proposals and provide proof of deliverables for disbursement. Therefore, listing the number of deliverables and the price per post is factual and must be reported to the EC for transparency and audit purposes. This is a standard practice that all parties can do but may choose to implement differently.
The Deputy Spokesperson added that the use of fund money is considered on a case-by-case basis, focusing on beneficial publicity work such as MPs’ field visits or wildfire mitigation efforts—activities representing constructive political work. Political rebuttals, commemorative events, or localized campaigning budgets are funded separately, not from the EC fund, to avoid violating TOR conditions. Ultimately, it depends on the EC's decision whether to approve the disbursement.
“The reason for scrutiny is that the company's name is now well-known, and society may not fully understand this law, seeing it as a new issue. We affirm that we have always operated transparently. Other parties also have this fund and can choose whether to use it or not. But Prachachon Party chooses to use it to drive political activities efficiently in accordance with the fund's intent,” Ms. Phakamon concluded.
