Siripong accepted proposals from civil society to enhance social welfare, continuing previous legislative drafts to resolve the crisis of inequality and citizens' living costs. He revealed that the government is considering creating a welfare system that effectively serves all population groups.
At 14:45 on 17 April 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkit, Deputy Minister of Transport, received proposals from the Welfare State Network for Equality and Justice (We Fair) and the People's Movement for a Just Society (P-Move) regarding solutions to the crisis of inequality and the cost of living for the people. At the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, he stated that the network presenting today raised several issues, including the “3+1 Plus” proposal, which focuses on welfare and social protection for the elderly, disabled, and children—considered a beneficial proposal.
“We will explore which parts can be advanced. In fact, the government already has the idea of establishing a system that effectively manages welfare for all groups in society. Please wait and see in due course,” he said.
Siripong further revealed discussions about advancing the Labor Act for workers. Currently, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has instructed each ministry to review laws passed by the previous parliament to confirm which should be upheld. The Ministry of Labor is now reviewing this, and he will follow up to reinforce the matter.
Regarding the formation of a subcommittee to address various issues, the network urged expedited action, which has been taken. When Anutin was prime minister last term, he quickly signed related orders. The final topic was community electricity and solar power—for example, households without registered addresses, vulnerable groups, and the poor who share electricity use. There are concerns that these groups might miss out on benefits from such policies. These matters are considered feasible for the government to implement.
