On 17 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, along with his team, arrived at Chumphon Airport to preside over the opening ceremony of the tourism promotion project "Wan Lai Bang Berd" at Bang Berd Beach, Pak Khlong Subdistrict, Pathio District, Chumphon Province. Upon arrival, the Prime Minister and his team changed into brightly colored floral shirts to match the festive atmosphere of the Wan Lai tradition.
The atmosphere at Chumphon Airport was lively, with Thianchai Chookittiviboon, Governor of Chumphon, and Nopporn Usit, President of the Chumphon Provincial Administrative Organization, leading government officials in welcoming them. Also present were Bhumjaithai Party MPs from Chumphon, including Wichai Sudsawat, Kittisak Phromrat, and Supol Junlsai, ready to greet the Prime Minister's delegation. Many local residents and officials warmly welcomed Anutin with garlands and roses.
The opening of the "Wan Lai Bang Berd" event focuses on promoting alternative tourism and elevating the local tradition to national recognition. The goal is to attract visitors to experience the beauty of Bang Berd Beach, a key tourist spot in Pathio District. The Prime Minister is scheduled to open the event and participate in activities with locals to support the community economy and bring joy during the closing days of the 2026 Songkran festival.
