
The Prime Minister revealed he has directed the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) to strictly enforce laws and enhance intelligence capabilities. He wished Thai people wealth flowing in abundance and said he dared not say 'can't take it anymore,' preferring to hope for prosperity flowing in every day.
On 17 April at 22:30 at Military Airport 2, Wing 6 Don Mueang, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, after inspecting the southern border, said he is trying to understand all parties as much as possible. Everyone is working together to improve the situation. Today, all relevant ministers have been deployed to the southern provinces, except for the Ministry of Public Health.
Regarding the role of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC),there arequestions about whether changes or additions are needed. The Prime Minister said he has given policy directives to tighten law enforcement and fully apply the “understand, reach out, develop” principle. This includes development, upgrading intelligence, and fostering concrete cooperation among local people in the three southern border provinces.
On progress in the case of the attempted shooting of Kamonsak Leewamoh, Narathiwat MP from the Prachachat Party, the Prime Minister said he spoke with Kamonsak, accompanied by Pol. Gen. Samran Nuanma, Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, who visited the area. He reported rapid progress: four of the five suspects have been arrested, with efforts ongoing to expand the investigation and apprehendthe fifth suspect.However, it is unknown whether the fifth suspect escaped via natural routes.
Meanwhile, ISOC has filed charges against a naval captain who authorized lending a vehicle, and the case is progressing. Today, the Prime Minister approved constructing a fence in Waeng District, Narathiwat Province, along the Kolok River border to prevent smuggling of contraband or undesired goods through natural channels that disrupt the country. He also ordered flood protection measures, as the area is regularly flooded.
When asked if he had any message for the Thai people after the Songkran festival, the Prime Minister said,“I wish everyone happiness, success, and fulfillment, with wealth flowing in abundance.”He added jokingly, “I dare not say 'can't take it anymore,' so just let the wealth flow in every day.”
