Pheu Thai Reshuffles Deputy Party Leaders, Appoints Somsak’s Daughter to Oversee Lower Northern Region

Pheu Thai restructures its deputy party leadership by promoting Somsak Thepsutin’s daughter to deputy party leader overseeing the lower northern region, while Jiraporn Sindhupr advances to deputy party leader managing the central northeastern region.

On 17 April 2026, reporters from Pheu Thai Party reported that on 24 April at 8:30 a.m., the party will hold its 2026 annual general meeting at the party headquarters. A key agenda is the election of a new executive committee, with only partial changes due to some members resigning. The positions of party leader, secretary-general, and party spokesperson will remain unchanged. Some deputy party leader posts will be adjusted, removing those who have taken administrative roles, such as Mr. Lertsak Pattanachayakul, Pheu Thai MP for Loei and second deputy speaker of the House. Initially, the deputy party leaders will include Mr. Wisut Chairnarun, party-list MP, who will continue as deputy party leader overseeing the upper northern region. Meanwhile, the deputy party leader in charge of the lower northern region will be Ms. Natthida Thepsutin, party-list MP and daughter of Pheu Thai leader Somsak Thepsutin, replacing former Phitsanulok MP Mr. Jadet Chantra.

The deputy party leader responsible for the central region remains Mr. Suang Thienthong, former Sa Kaeo MP. In the northeast, Mrs. Monporn Charoensri, Nakhon Phanom MP, will shift to oversee the upper northeastern region instead of the central northeastern region, which will now be managed by Ms. Jiraporn Sindhupr, Roi Et MP, replacing Mr. Lertsak Pattanachayakul, who has become second deputy speaker of the House. The deputy party leader overseeing the lower northeastern region remains Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, party-list MP, as before.

The deputy party leader overseeing the southern region will continue to be Mr. Korkaeo Pikulthong, a party-list candidate. The deputy party leader responsible for Bangkok remains Ms. Theerarat Samretwanich, former Bangkok MP for Pheu Thai. Meanwhile, the deputy secretary-general position is expected to be taken by Mr. Thanarat Jongsuthanamanee, Chiang Rai MP, replacing Ms. Piyaratch Tiyapairat, Chiang Rai MP, who has become Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives. On 20 April, Pheu Thai leaders will hold another meeting to finalize and confirm these positions.
