The new government’s first session saw all Senate questions unanswered, with all members—from the Prime Minister to the Ministers of Energy, Defence, Public Health, and Education—citing prior commitments as reasons for their absence from answering.
At 09:30 on 20 Apr 2026 GMT+7, the Senate convened at the Parliament with General Kriengkrai Srirak, Deputy Senate President, presiding. This was the first time questions were posed to the new cabinet, both orally and in writing. However, no responses were given by the Prime Minister or relevant ministers for any questions, each citing scheduling conflicts.
The three written questions included: 1. Progress on constructing Nam Wa Dam in Wiang Sa District, Nan Province, posed by Senator Mangkon Sricharoenkul to Energy Minister Aeknath Promphan, who was unavailable due to other duties; 2. Welfare and morale support for military personnel during and after combat related to the Thai-Cambodian border conflict, asked by Senator Ratchaneekorn Thongtip to the Prime Minister. Defence Minister General Adul Boonthamcharoen was assigned to respond but also reported being occupied; 3. Strategies to promote advancement in professional nursing, raised by Senator Premsak Piaeura to Public Health Minister Patthana Promphat, who was also unavailable.
The three oral questions included: 1. Measures to prevent students from dropping out of the education system in 2026, asked by Senator Prinya Wongcherdkwan to Education Minister Prasert Chantraruangthong, who reported being busy; 2. Using innovation to extinguish fires, raised by Lieutenant Wutthipong Pongsuwan to the Prime Minister. Deputy Interior Minister Jeset Thaises was assigned to answer but also cited prior commitments; 3. The declining price of palm oil, questioned by Senator Seranee Anilbol to Commerce Minister Supachai Sutthammanoon, who was reported as unavailable due to other obligations.
