
The Cabinet appointed Saroj, Saran, and Sukit as Deputy Secretary-Generals to the Prime Minister. Dr. Sriyada was appointed Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Sakda was appointed Advisor to the Minister of the Interior. Chaiwat was named Secretary to the Minister, and Nopadol was appointed the new Secretary-General of the Council of State.
At approximately 13:45 on 21 April 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertvivattana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister, announced the Cabinet's resolution regarding appointments. The Cabinet appointed Mr. Pradorn Prissanantakul, Minister attached to the Office of the Prime Minister, as a commissioner on the Senate Special Committee.
Regarding appointments of political officials, permanent officials in the Office of the Prime Minister were assigned to positions. Deputy Secretary-Generals to the Prime Minister (Political Affairs). These include:
Ministry of Commerce.
Ministry of Transport.
Ministry of Industry.
Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
Ministry of the Interior.
Ms. Lalida added that notable appointments of high-level civil servants include: Mr. Nopadol Pheriruek appointed Secretary-General of the Council of State. These appointments take effect from 21 April 2026 onward.
Reporters noted that Deputy Prime Minister Anutin instructed strict vetting of political appointees, including advisors to ministers. This marks the first time such rigorous qualification checks have been mandated for ministerial advisors.
