Cabinet Appoints Three Deputy Secretary-Generals to the Prime Minister and Advisors to Ministers

The Cabinet appointed Saroj, Saran, and Sukit as Deputy Secretary-Generals to the Prime Minister. Dr. Sriyada was appointed Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Sakda was appointed Advisor to the Minister of the Interior. Chaiwat was named Secretary to the Minister, and Nopadol was appointed the new Secretary-General of the Council of State.

At approximately 13:45 on 21 April 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertvivattana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister, announced the Cabinet's resolution regarding appointments. The Cabinet appointed Mr. Pradorn Prissanantakul, Minister attached to the Office of the Prime Minister, as a commissioner on the Senate Special Committee.

Regarding appointments of political officials, permanent officials in the Office of the Prime Minister were assigned to positions. Deputy Secretary-Generals to the Prime Minister (Political Affairs). These include:

• Mr. Saroj Samart was appointed Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister (Political Affairs) under Deputy Prime Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn.
• Second Lieutenant Saran Samanphan was appointed Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister (Political Affairs) under Deputy Prime Minister Akiniti Nitithanprapak.
• Mr. Sukit Srichomkwan was appointed Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister (Political Affairs) under Deputy Prime Minister Yoschanon Wongsawat.

Ministry of Commerce.

• Ms. Banjongjit Angsusing was appointed Advisor to the Minister.
• Mr. Worawut Poskanon was appointed Secretary to the Minister.

Ministry of Transport.

• Mr. Ratchapong Chukaew was appointed Secretary to the Minister.

Ministry of Industry.

• Mr. Nopadol Matree Sri was appointed Advisor to the Minister.
• Mr. Thanetphon Thanabunyawat was appointed Secretary to the Minister.

Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.

• Ms. Sriyada Palimapant was appointed Advisor to the Minister.
• Mr. Chatrin Janhom was appointed Secretary to the Minister.

Ministry of the Interior.

• Mr. Sakda Wichiansin was appointed Advisor to the Minister.
• Mr. Chaiwat Junthirapong was appointed Secretary to the Minister.

Nopadol Pheriruek appointed Secretary-General of the Council of State.

Ms. Lalida added that notable appointments of high-level civil servants include: Mr. Nopadol Pheriruek appointed Secretary-General of the Council of State. These appointments take effect from 21 April 2026 onward.

Reporters noted that Deputy Prime Minister Anutin instructed strict vetting of political appointees, including advisors to ministers. This marks the first time such rigorous qualification checks have been mandated for ministerial advisors.
