Pradorn revealed that “Khon La Khrueng Plus” is part of the larger “Thai Chuay Thai” initiative, targeting 20 to 30 million people. He also hinted that the Ministry of Finance is currently drafting the budget structure.
At approximately 2:00 p.m. on 21 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Pradorn Prissanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, responded to media questions following a press briefing on the timeline for the 2027 fiscal year budget. At one point, regarding the “Thai Chuay Thai” program, he said there are many projects, including those for vulnerable groups, currently covering 13.4 million people who are state welfare recipients.
As for “Khon La Khrueng Plus”, now renamed Thai Chuay Thai, Khon La Khrueng Plus is a component under the broad Thai Chuay Thai umbrella, with a target estimated at 20 to 30 million people. Regarding the budget amount, it is currently under consideration by relevant agencies, namely the Ministry of Finance. They are drafting the structure and scenarios for how much money will be spent and how much is available. This also includes fertilizer subsidies, which the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) will manage to provide affordable fertilizer to the public, using BAAC funds. Additionally, support for farmers includes interest reductions under the Khon La Khrueng scheme for farmers borrowing from BAAC.
All these projects fall under the broad Thai Chuay Thai umbrella, which also includes projects from the Ministry of Commerce, such as the Blue Flag, Green Flag, and mobile market truck programs, which are set to launch soon.
