Nattapong revealed that tomorrow, 10 People’s Party MPs will gather to answer all inquiries before the Supreme Court decides whether to accept the case. He emphasized that if the court grants justice on 24 April, there is no reason to replace the party’s executive committee members.
On 21 April 2026, Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, a party-list MP and leader of the People’s Party, spoke about the progress of the case involving 44 Future Forward Party MPs. He said the party is preparing to present detailed legal strategies tomorrow (22 April), with himself and 10 other MPs involved in the case.
Nattapong said the case depends on the discretion of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), while in the case of Sak Siam Chidchob, former Minister of Transport, the outcome was different despite clear financial irregularities. He noted that their use of legitimate legislative mechanisms is being handled differently. He had opportunities to debate during the prime ministerial vote and policy statements to parliament, pointing out that although many perceive the government as stable, proper use of power is what everyone expects.
“The misuse of all authority to distort the mechanisms of independent legal organizations to protect allies and destroy opponents ultimately undermines the government itself.” Nattapong said.
He pointed out that the situation is highly irregular.
Nattapong continued that what they can do is show the public that what is happening is extremely abnormal. He sees the Bhumjaithai Party and its government as merely the tip of the iceberg in the current political system, which includes independent bodies and powerful groups supporting this political setup. The damage to the country arises from benefits gained through state power, whether borrowing funds, spending the state budget, or judicial proceedings, which ultimately benefit elite groups in society.
“But those who act correctly or ordinary citizens never benefit from these things. Therefore, the key task for the People’s Party moving forward is to work openly so people see and agree that the system they must oppose is one that does not belong to the majority of people, and to join together to create change in the future.”

Regarding whether the party’s executive committee will change by 24 April, Nattapong said he cannot answer before the party’s general meeting, but they are prepared for all scenarios and believe the court will grant justice. They have consistently maintained their innocence. One confirmed position is the party secretary, Sarayut Jaikal, who previously submitted his resignation, but Nattapong requested he remain acting secretary until the general meeting.
“I can confirm everyone is ready to continue their duties if the court grants justice, as we maintain that proposing legal amendments is not an offense. There is no reason to replace the current management unless the Supreme Court issues an unfavorable order.” Nattapong said.
He expressed surprise at the coincidence of the date of the general meeting.
Nattapong also said he does not know if it is coincidence or deliberate that the People’s Party general meeting falls on the same date as the court’s ruling. However, the party’s annual general meeting must occur within April. Regarding whether he can continue as party leader if suspended pending the court’s decision, Nattapong said he is ready to continue in any role or position not related to parliamentary duties.
