Yotsanan Reveals Plans to Discuss with Por Nora and Tadika Schools, Hints at Pheu Thai Party Meeting to Adjust Roles

Yotsanan Wongsawat revealed that preparations are underway to discuss with Por Nora and Tadika schools, but he declined to share details. This afternoon, there will be a joint meeting with Supachai to address intellectual property issues. He hinted that the Pheu Thai party meeting on 24 Apr will focus on adjusting personnel to fit their roles.

At 07:50 on 23 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, gave an interview at the Government House regarding education in the southern border provinces, stating that the Ministry of Education is fully prepared and acknowledged that there are two to three key issues in the southern border provinces: education, safety, and security, which are crucial. Efforts are being made to promote equality in all dimensions, including addressing violence, hardship, and income issues, which are important matters. While focusing on security alone, the economy and livelihoods are also parts of the equation. In his supervisory role and as a member of the Cabinet, he will reflect these issues and strive to resolve them as best as possible.

A reporter then asked about the approach to discussions with Por Nora and Tadika schools. Whether there have been initial talks with Mr. Prasert Chantraruangthong, Minister of Education, Mr. Yotsanan said, that preparations have been made, but he declined to discuss details.

Meanwhile, Mr. Yotsanan, as a leader of the Pheu Thai Party, also commented on the upcoming Pheu Thai party meeting. On 24 Apr, he said it will serve as an update and report on each member's fieldwork, covering both long-term and short-term plans to assist on various matters, including integration. This afternoon (23 Apr), he will visit the Ministry of Commerce to meet with Ms. Supachai Suthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, to discuss intellectual property issues aimed at advancing high-value products, potentially followed by a press statement.

When asked whether tomorrow’s Pheu Thai Party executive committee meeting would bring significant changes, Mr. Yotsanan said it is about adjusting personnel to fit their roles, as many hold multiple roles. The goal is to ensure suitability and smooth workflow. Fundamentally, there will be no major overhaul, but adjustments for agility are necessary because some members are part of the government, and others are better suited for urgent current tasks. Such changes are normal for a political party and nothing unusual.
