
Six political parties have agreed on the distribution of chair positions for 35 committees. Bhumjaithai obtained 14 chairs, overseeing the Security, National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), and Energy Committees. Prachachon holds 9 chairs, responsible for Legal Affairs and Independent Organizations Committees. Pheu Thai secured 5 chairs.
At 13:30 on 23 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Sophon Sarum, Speaker of the House of Representatives, convened a meeting with representatives from six political parties: Bhumjaithai, Prachachon, Pheu Thai, Kla Tham, Democrat, and Thai Ruam Phalang to discuss quota agreements. After the meeting, Mr. Thanyot Timsuwan, MP for Loei and government coalition whip from Bhumjaithai, said all six parties reached a joint agreement. Although several committees were contested by multiple parties, everyone stepped back to reach a consensus. The decision was not based on which party ministers control which ministries, but rather on discussions aimed at facilitating the smooth functioning of parliament.
