The hearing is set for tomorrow (24 Apr 26) on allegations of serious ethical violations regarding their signatures proposing amendments to Penal Code Section 112. The accused include: 1. Reporters said if the Supreme Court decides to accept the petition and orders these 10 People’s Party MPs to suspend their duties, the party will lose its opposition leader in parliament. Consequently, the People’s Party has scheduled its annual general meeting tomorrow as well, where a leadership change is expected. Associate Professor Veerayut Kanchuchat, deputy leader and the party’s third-ranking prime ministerial candidate, is likely to become the new party leader, while Natthapong would become party secretary-general. The party also plans to reorganize its executive committee and appoint Parit Watcharasindhu, a party-list MP, as the new opposition leader in parliament.
