Pop Chon Party Stands Firm Ahead of 44 MPs Case Tomorrow Parit Vows to Challenge NACCs Whitewashing of Sak Siam

The Pop Chon Party remains resolute and ready to hold its general meeting regardless of the outcome of the 44 MPs' case, demanding an investigation into the NACC's dismissal of the complaint about Sak Siam's hidden shares.

On 23 April 2026 at the Parliament, Pakornwut Udompipatsakul, Deputy Leader of the Pop Chon Party, spoke about preparations ahead of the Supreme Court's ruling on the 44 MPs' case involving a proposal to amend Section 112, which coincides with the party's annual general meeting. He confirmed that all members are full of morale and calm, ready to continue working whatever the result.

Parit Watcharasindhu, party-list MP, stated that the actions of all 44 individuals did not violate ethical standards and urged the public to closely monitor the case, as its outcome will reflect the country's justice system standards, not merely individual or party issues.

Parit also addressed the National Anti-Corruption Commission's dismissal of the complaint against Sak Siam Chidchob, former Minister of Transport, regarding hidden shares. He said the NACC's statement conflicts with the Constitutional Court's ruling and appears intended to whitewash the issue. Therefore, the party plans two levels of response: using constitutional authority under Article 236 to gather signatures from at least 140 MPs (one-fifth of the House) to petition the Speaker to forward to the Supreme Court President to establish an investigative committee on the NACC for misconduct. They will consult with opposition whips and senators next week, and propose amending Article 236 to remove the Speaker's discretion in screening MPs' requests to investigate independent agencies, preventing past cases of "case withholding."

When asked about concerns that House Speaker Sopon Sarum might not forward the petition, Parit expressed hope that the Speaker will perform duties based on reason and principles, without abusing power contrary to checks and balances. The party will continue to push for removing the Speaker's discretionary power to establish new standards for overseeing independent agencies genuinely.
