Thailand Ready to Welcome Chinese Foreign Minister for Talks with Prime Minister on Cooperation

Deputy Government Spokesperson revealed that Thailand is ready to welcome Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Minister, who will visit Thailand tomorrow to meet the Prime Minister and discuss mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.


On 23 April 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatthana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the Thai government is ready to welcome Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. He is visiting Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar, as a guest of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 23 to 25 April 2026.

Tomorrow (24 April 2026), Wang Yi is scheduled to attend the 3rd Thailand-China Foreign Ministers' Consultation Mechanism meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both sides will review progress in various cooperation sectors and set the direction for future collaboration. Afterwards, he will pay a courtesy visit to Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul at the Thai Kufa Building, Government House, to congratulate him on his appointment and discuss the overall Thailand-China relationship as well as ways to promote beneficial and potential cooperation across multiple areas.

Ms. Lalida said this visit reflects the strong and close relationship between Thailand and China in all dimensions, including economy, trade, investment, and regional cooperation. Both sides will use this opportunity to exchange views and push for more concrete cooperation results.
