Prime Minister Anutin revealed plans to hold weekly meetings with coalition MPs, insisted there would be no shortcuts in the case of the shooting of MP Kamolsak, and criticized scholars for behaving unprofessionally, calling it more regrettable.
At 15:50 on 23 April 2026 GMT+7 Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, gave an interview at Government House after meeting with Wan Muhamad Noor Mata, the Prime Minister's advisor and chairman of the Prachachart Party advisory board. Regarding political matters, Wan Muhamad Noor expressed full cooperation, and Prachachart is ready to be a full coalition partner.
When asked by reporters about a photo of Prachachart MPs with Anutin during a visit to the southern border, and whether they are now fully united, Anutin said, "Currently, Prachachart is a coalition party and Parliament has convened. The government must perform its duties 100%. We will try to hold weekly meetings with coalition MPs as often as possible."
The Prime Minister further said that in discussions with Wan Muhamad Noor, they talked about the shooting case of Kamolsak Liwamo, MP from Narathiwat representing Prachachart. They acknowledged that the perpetrators have been apprehended and that efforts will continue to identify all masterminds. Reporters asked if the investigation would be cut short. "No, it cannot be cut short because the police are following proper procedures."
Regarding some scholars criticizing the Prime Minister’s work, saying he is incompetent and disgraceful for inappropriate behavior such as spitting on stage, Anutin laughed and said, "Scholars who behave unprofessionally are more pitiful. The mustache will twitch soon." Reporters noted that as the Prime Minister left the interview, he saw a journalist holding a microphone with a mustache and playfully acted surprised, saying, "Oh, seeing the mustache startled me."
