The Deputy Government Spokesperson revealed that the government has extended the collection period for the 2026 land and building tax until September, permitting payment in three installments to relieve the public's financial burden.
On 24 April 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwivatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, stated that the government has extended the entire collection period for the “2026 land and building tax” to ease economic pressures and improve liquidity for citizens and businesses.
The new timeline includes the following key points:
Tax assessment notifications, originally due by April 2026, are now extended to May 2026.
Tax payments, initially due by June 2026, are now extended to July 2026.
Tax payments can be made in three installments.
The first installment is due by July 2026.
The second installment is due by August 2026.
The third installment is due by September 2026.
Notifications for overdue tax payments are extended to August 2026.
Ms. Lalida said this extension allows people more time to plan their finances, especially as the economy is in recovery, while still providing the option to pay in installments without facing a lump-sum burden.
Local administrative organizations nationwide will follow the new schedule to facilitate convenience and ensure the tax collection process is efficient and fair.
“The government is committed to comprehensive care for the people, both by reducing short-term burdens and sustaining overall economic recovery,” she added.
