On 24 April 2026, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defense, chaired a key policy meeting with the military commanders. The Chief of Defence Forces and other branch commanders attended, except the Navy Commander who was on duty in the Philippines. The meeting aimed to set the framework for security operations aligned with government policies.
Lieutenant General Adul emphasized the primary mission to protect sovereignty along border areas and strengthen maritime security. He also stressed proactive readiness to confront increasingly complex new threats, ordering integrated data sharing and joint operations among military branches to ensure the highest efficiency in maintaining national stability.
Beyond security matters, the Defense Minister highlighted the importance of improving the quality of life for military personnel. He directed relevant agencies to promptly enhance welfare provisions to boost morale among troops at all levels, ensuring they are fully prepared to perform their duties effectively, including skill training to modernize the military's capabilities.
