
The Air Force is expediting the assessment of damage to a training aircraft that skidded off the runway and has established a committee to analyze the cause in order to implement measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
On 24 April 2026, the Air Force issued a statement regarding an accident involving a T-50 training aircraft that skidded off the runway (Runway Excursion) within the Wing 1 area in Nakhon Ratchasima province during a training flight mission on 23 April 2026.
After the incident, the Air Force confirmed that the pilot was safe and exited the aircraft according to procedures without any injuries. The aircraft is currently secured by personnel and undergoing a detailed damage assessment to plan repairs that will restore it to full safety standards.
Wing 1 and related agencies immediately followed strict aviation safety protocols to inspect and secure the surrounding area to prevent further impact. The Air Force stated that this incident did not affect the overall flight operations of Wing 1 in any way.
The Air Force’s aviation accident investigation committee has begun an in-depth analysis focused on the aircraft’s technical aspects, environmental conditions at the time, and operational factors to compile findings and develop preventative measures against similar future accidents.
The Air Force concluded by affirming that it prioritizes the welfare of personnel and flight safety above all and will conduct all procedures transparently to maintain the highest safety standards of the force going forward.
