Waiting for Registration: Aekniti Confirms Thai Chuey Thai Plus to Open in May, Launch in June 2026

Aekniti revealed that registration for "Thai Chuey Thai Plus" will open this May, with the official launch in June 2026. The government will pay 60% and citizens 40% to help alleviate the public's living costs. Anutin noted that payments will be distributed gradually over four months.

At 14:21 on 24 April at Government House, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Aekniti Nitithanprapas spoke about the progress of the Thai Chuey Thai Plus program. He stated his intention to begin registration in May and start usage in June, aligning with the Prime Minister’s policy to provide assistance. According to the Prime Minister’s plan, the cost-sharing might be 60:40—government covering 60%, citizens 40%—including support for vulnerable groups who won’t need to contribute, while the general middle class will participate under the 60:40 scheme.

Aekniti added that the program will provide relief for living expenses through the same "Pao Tang" application as before, with everything remaining the same. When asked if the amount would be 1,000 baht per month, he said that was the preliminary plan.

A reporter noted that Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who was standing nearby, said this was no longer the "Khon La Khrueng" (Half-Half) scheme, and that payments would be staggered over four months.

Later, at 14:59, Aekniti led his team to pay respects at the spirit shrines of Government House, including the guardian spirits and ancestral shrines, for good fortune upon taking office earlier in April.
