The Secretary-General of the Election Commission emphasized that in the case of the petition to dissolve the People's Party, fairness must be ensured for all parties. On 24 Apr 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Election Commission Office, Mr. Saweang Bunmee, Secretary-General of the EC, spoke about the progress of the petition to dissolve the People's Party regarding Specter C Company, stating that when a petition is filed, the EC must consider it according to proper procedures.
It is necessary first to verify whether there is wrongdoing, and if so, to determine whether it meets the criteria for party dissolution. The accused must be summoned to provide statements. If the petition has merit, the accused must be given a chance to explain to ensure fairness, in line with principles. We consider the case according to law and facts. Once a decision is made, there must be factual evidence for the public to see whether it is valid or not. In some matters, we exercise discretion, and different people may have differing views on that discretion.
