
Deputy Prime Minister Phiphat has proposed holding the first mobile Cabinet meeting in Hat Yai at the end of May, accompanied by strategic development plans for the five southern border provinces, promoting flagship projects such as the Chana Industrial Estate and biomass power plants.
At 09:30 on 25 April at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said he has proposed Hat Yai district in Songkhla province as the site for an official mobile Cabinet meeting (mobile Cabinet). The area is now ready after experiencing major flooding, and the meeting is expected to take place in late May.
Phiphat added that a development strategy has been set for the southern region focusing on the five southern border provinces, emphasizing occupational development. The flagship project for southern development is the Chana Industrial Estate, which will also include halal-related initiatives. In the three southern border provinces, biomass energy crops will be promoted with plans to build biomass power plants, supported by investors, to create employment opportunities. The Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC) has already surveyed parts of four districts across three provinces, aiming to cover all five southern border provinces.
