The People's Party held its annual general meeting to intensively discuss strategies for building a mass party. Natthapong hinted at a major party restructuring.
On 25 Apr 2026 GMT+7, the atmosphere at the People's Party annual general meeting at Maple Hotel in Bangna district was intense, with MPs and party representatives exchanging views on grassroots work and mass mobilization, as well as coordinating between volunteers and district representatives to prepare for the election battle and local political roles.
Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, party leader, stated that the crucial task ahead is to instill a shared spirit among party members, driving issues collectively so no one fights alone. He emphasized transforming members from "voters" waiting for the party's performance into "mass supporters" who immediately create change themselves without waiting for the party to form government.
Natthapong added his agreement with proposals to intensify ideological work within the party by inviting external speakers for exchange and increasing collaboration with civil society. Going forward, roles in the field will be clearly divided, covering membership expansion, relationship building, and election-winning strategies.
"Political parties are only one component, but building a movement connected to all members is the core. I will implement everyone's proposals to make the People's Party a genuine mass party," Natthapong said. He also noted that the meeting on 26 Apr will focus on key issues including party restructuring, setting future directions, and defining the role in government oversight to maximize effectiveness.
