"Rachada" revealed the government is moving forward with a full-scale crackdown on nominee businesses to break disguised business cycles, noting that after strict measures took effect, the risk group of nominees dropped by over 60%. Plans are in place to elevate the crackdown in all dimensions with 21 agencies signing on 29 April.
26 April 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Rachada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, stated that the government is preparing to upgrade measures to prevent and suppress nominee businesses through data linkage, proactive expansion, and tightening laws to block misuse of legal entities, including money laundering and illegal business operations.
These actions build upon the Quick Big Win policy measures that have begun to show concrete results. Since 1 January 2026, risk groups have been required to submit additional financial evidence before registration, resulting in a 60% reduction in nominee-risk companies in Q1 2026 to 1,373 companies from 3,511 in the same period last year. Furthermore, the investment confirmation measure, implemented on 1 April 2026, has continued to reduce risks. Between 1–23 April 2026, only 175 risk companies were found, a 75% decrease from 658 in the same period last year.
Ms. Rachada added that going forward, the government will accelerate efforts in three areas: in-depth investigation of nominee networks; field inspections and data linkage among agencies; and scrutiny of foreign legal entities potentially violating laws to comprehensively close off avenues for wrongdoing. Since 1 October 2025 to 23 April 2026,
1. Eleven risk groups linked to over 300 legal entities were identified and referred to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) for further action and strict legal prosecution.
2. In-depth field inspections were conducted in 27 locations across 10 provinces, with information forwarded to nine agencies for further action and prosecution.
3. Foreign legal entities totaling 4,372 were examined; facts and evidence are currently being gathered for the next steps.
: Additionally, the government plans to enhance cooperation through a signing ceremony involving 21 agencies on 29 April 2026 at the Government House,
to link data, establish joint surveillance, prevention, and suppression mechanisms, strengthen legal measures, and boost confidence among foreign investors conducting legitimate business. The ceremony will be chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul.
"The government is advancing the intensification of nominee business suppression in all aspects, including law enforcement, data linkage, and closing loopholes, to create a transparent and fair competitive business system in the long term."
