Somsak Prisanananukul celebrated his 75th birthday as Warawut led a team of Suphanburi MPs from the Bhumjaithai Party to congratulate "Hia Tua," citing Banhan as a political role model and expressing a strong desire to develop Ang Thong province to match Suphanburi's progress.
On 26 April 2026 at the Dome of Patriotism Building of the Ang Thong Provincial Administrative Organization, a celebration was held for the 75th birthday of Mr. Somsak Prisanananukul, former Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives and former Minister of Education. Since morning, many politicians attended, including Mr. Nikorn Jamnong, Mr. Jongchai Thiengtham, Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry and Suphanburi MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, along with Mr. Pradorn Prisanananukul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Karavee Prisanananukul, Government Whip and son of Mr. Somsak, as well as local politicians and residents of Ang Thong.
Mr. Warawut spoke on behalf of the group, saying he felt as if he had returned to stand with family again, working once more with Mr. Somsak and the younger members, feeling very warm. He recalled the times of Mr. Banhan Silpa-archa, the father, who was always by Mr. Somsak's side wherever he worked, like a great tree providing shade and shelter to Ang Thong’s people, friends, and community for decades. He expressed hope that in this and future governments, they would gather here again on occasions other than birthdays. Marking the 10th anniversary of Mr. Banhan's passing, Mr. Somsak has remained committed to political work, just as Ang Thong and Suphanburi provinces have grown together. Today, they came to learn the political skills Mr. Banhan entrusted to Mr. Somsak to continue serving the people of Suphanburi and Ang Thong. He then led the group in singing "Happy Birthday" to Mr. Somsak.
Mr. Somsak thanked those who came to offer congratulations, especially the Suphanburi team led by Mr. Warawut and the Bhumjaithai MPs who attended in full. He felt as if history was returning to familiar grounds and said they would work together again. He mentioned a conversation with Mr. Warawut that in a few days, the Chart Thai Party, which was revoked 20 years ago, would be revived. Although uncertain about the future, having the Chart Thai Party back provides reassurance, as does having their group. How things proceed is a matter of fate.
Mr. Somsak emphasized that politicians and civil servants must work together, citing Suphanburi as an example where politicians and civil servants are united and collaborate, resulting in the province’s development as seen today. He intends to achieve the same in Ang Thong. He expressed gratitude to Mr. Banhan and the Silpa-archa family for their continuous support throughout, which he will pass on to the next generation, including his wife, family, civil servants, local politicians, community groups, housewives, and public health volunteers who have consistently supported him. He jokingly clarified that he is not “Sia Tua Ang Thong” involved in an oil hoarding case, but rather “Hia Tua Cosmo,” as explained by Mr. Pradorn, Mr. Karavee, and Mr. Rangsiman Rome, a party-list MP from the Move Forward Party. He also thanked many well-wishers who called to check on him with concern.
