At 16:50 on 26 April 2026, after Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul had opened the Phra Pradaeng Songkran Festival at the Phra Pradaeng District Office in Samut Prakan Province, reporters asked if he was aware of the gunfire-like sounds at the White House press reception attended by U.S. President Donald Trump. Anutin replied briefly, "I have seen it."
When reporters asked if he had received any updates, the Prime Minister said, "We must be cautious." He then got into his vehicle and left immediately.
