Tawee Exposes Murder-for-Hire Scheme Targeting MP, Says Mastermind Beyond 5 Suspects Urges Security Agencies to Stay Calm

" Tawee" Tawee exposes a murder-for-hire plot targeting an MP, revealing masterminds beyond the five suspects; he urges security agencies not to overreact after the arrest of two active-duty military officers, emphasizing that the evidence is scientifically clear.

On 26 Apr 2026 GMT+7, at Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, the Prachachart Party held its 2026 annual general meeting, attended by party leaders, Members of Parliament (MPs), and party members in large numbers.

Pol. Col. Tawee Sodson, leader of the Prachachart Party, opened the meeting by focusing on threats against party members, especially the assassination or assault attempt on Kamolsak Liwamo, MP from Narathiwat. He noted that although the police have arrested five suspects, investigations reveal they are merely hired operatives following orders passed down through chains.

"In hired assassination cases, evidence is hard to find due to their secretive nature. However, we cannot allow this incident to end without identifying the masterminds or those who ordered it, as this is an attack on a political party. Kamolsak is an MP specializing in law and human rights. If the party cannot pursue this fully, public confidence in the justice system will erode," said the party leader.

Masterminds beyond five individuals

Pol. Col. Tawee further revealed that evidence indicates there are "more than five masterminds" behind the arrests, based on information from suspects communicating through relatives and legal counsel during detention. He called on police to thoroughly examine communication systems and financial trails, as the plot was long in planning.

Criticizing flawed "mindsets"

Pol. Col. Tawee added that some believe political parties formed by local people are enemies of national security. This mindset is flawed because the constitution is the supreme law, and anything conflicting with it is invalid. He urged security agencies, saying, "Anyone who enters the parliamentary path, elected by the people, embodies the beauty of the system." He also noted that those distorting facts about the case may be overreacting or part of the perpetrators' network, emphasizing that all evidence is scientific and verifiable.

Assassination case requires tracing the informants

MP Kamolsak Liwamo of Narathiwat stated that over the past month, his team has actively analyzed the case's circumstances and gathered detailed evidence. They found indications that the number of perpetrators may exceed the initially identified five suspects. They have gathered data and analyzed behaviors related to the attack, believing more people are involved but stressing they will not accuse anyone without clear evidence.

The Narathiwat MP acknowledged the case's complexity due to its nature as a "hired assassination," which is notoriously difficult to trace to the "mastermind" without insider testimony. Key evidence lies in interrogations and confessions from previously arrested suspects, who have begun implicating others involved.

Points to two active-duty military officers

The most sensational update in the press conference was the criminal case progress. MP Kamolsak confirmed that complaints have been filed against two additional individuals—active-duty military officers—currently under investigation with evidence being gathered by prosecutors.

"Wannor" rallies Prachachart Party to fight

Wan Muhamad Nor Mata, Prime Minister's Advisory Chairman and Prachachart Party Advisory Chairman, closed the meeting with a strong political stance, especially on seeking justice for the assassination attempt on MP Kamolsak Liwamo on 20 Mar. He said the party's current battle is not just the upcoming election within four years but fighting "illegitimacy" threatening public servants.

"Today, our fight for victory means seeking justice against those who cheat, wield influence, abuse state power, and use money to destroy those working for the people and human rights, like our MP Kamolsak Liwamo. This is a major challenge for the Prachachart Party. If we cannot secure justice for our MP, who will trust us to serve the people further?"

Comparing to shooting of former Narathiwat MP

Wan Muhamad Nor compared this event to Narathiwat's political history over 50 years ago, referencing the assassination of former MP Samart Iamwirot, who was shot dead outside his home simply for standing up for principles and Muslim communities. He noted Narathiwat as a border city with vast illegal and influential interests, leading state authorities to often use violence to eliminate opponents.

"In Samart's case, only the low-ranking soldier who fired was caught; the rest vanished. Those who fought for human rights in Narathiwat disappeared long ago... But Allah is signaling that if Narathiwat people and we do not give in, this case (of MP Kamolsak) should be the last and final one."

He also revealed that although officials have arrested five suspects under warrants, including capturing Lieutenant Wiroj in Myanmar, this is not the end, as MP Kamolsak had no personal disputes with any of them.

Questioning how strangers could shoot

"How could the vehicle come on its own? How could the gun come by itself? How could strangers shoot each other? Surely, there must be masterminds behind it," said Wan Muhamad Nor. He suggested the masterminds may be those who lost interests due to MP Kamolsak's role as chairman of the Law and Human Rights Committee.

He also criticized the perpetrators for their arrogance—using state vehicles for the crime, believing they were protected by power and influence. He refuted claims that the shooter changed their mind later as outright lies, since the assassin was an international-level hitman paid a large sum.

Hopes masterminds will face justice

At the end, Wan Muhamad Nor affirmed the Prachachart Party will fully pursue the matter, possibly joining as a co-victim and appointing lawyers alongside state officials, expecting the influential opponents to fight the case up to the Supreme Court.

"I pray to Allah (SWT) that I live to see the day the mastermind pays for his crimes in prison. I want to witness and hear that... We cannot allow them to act arrogantly and let these people go because it would set a precedent that shooting someone is permissible if you have money or state power." " said Wan Muhamad Nor in closing.
