Suriya Orders Comprehensive Audit of Dairy Organization, Proposes Cabinet Approval for Revolving Loan

Suriya has ordered the establishment of a committee to audit the entire Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DPO) system to find the root causes of its continuous losses before proceeding with proper corrective actions. He emphasized that the proposal to the Cabinet will request revolving loan funds only from the Farmers’ Aid Fund.

On 27 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Suriya Jungrungreangkit announced that he has assigned Deputy Minister Watcharapol Khaokham to form a fact-finding committee to investigate the causes of liquidity shortages and ongoing losses at the Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DPO). The aim is to understand the background before taking appropriate remedial steps. He believes irregularities likely exist due to the persistent losses and stressed the need for swift action.

“I have ordered the formation of a committee to investigate why the funds sent keep resulting in losses. The Deputy Minister must look into this matter,” Suriya said.

As an initial solution to DPO's liquidity shortage that prevents it from purchasing raw milk from farmers, on 28 Apr 2026 GMT+7, I will present a proposal to allocate 600 million baht for the second phase of the raw milk procurement project by the Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DPO) from the Farmers’ Aid Fund. I confirm that this amount will be a loan for revolving capital to enable DPO to manage its operations and continue its activities.
