Sia Visits Bang Pu Industrial Estate to Rally Workers to Submit Social Security Reform Draft, Reclaim the Fund for the People

'Sia' urges workers to submit a social security reform draft to reclaim the fund for the people, organizing a march to parliament on Labor Day.

On 27 April 2026, Mr. Sia Champathong, party-list MP, along with MPs from Samut Prakan representing the People's Party, held a campaign event at Bang Pu Center Market and the Bang Pu Industrial Estate Market in Samut Prakan province. The purpose was to promote the People's Party’s social security reform bill. The atmosphere was lively, with many workers and local residents showing strong interest and participating by placing stickers supporting the reform of the social security fund.

Mr. Sia said the main goal of this campaign is to bring transparency to the social security fund so that all insured persons understand how their monthly contributions are managed. He believes it is time for social security to separate from the government bureaucracy to allow qualified professionals to manage the fund, which will generate better, sustainable returns and increase benefits for the public.

“If the fund is sustainable and closely linked to the insured, efficient management will enable us to allocate welfare and benefits to workers more comprehensively and effectively,” said Mr. Sia. He invited insured persons and citizens who support the People's Party's reform approach to join in submitting the bill to truly reclaim social security for the people. The People's Party plans a march on Labor Day, 1 May, starting at Bang Pho Intersection and proceeding to the parliament building from 2:30 p.m. onwards, to send a message to those in power and work together to improve the social security system for everyone.
