Deputy Education Minister Akkranand Grants Scholarships to Two Children of Ayutthaya Shooting Victim to Complete High School

Deputy Education Minister Akkranand joined the Buddhist funeral rites for teacher Paphatsara, a victim of the Ayutthaya shooting, and personally awarded scholarships to her two children to support them through their secondary education until grade 12.

On 27 April 2026 at Rat Bamrung Nong Pladuk Temple in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Mr. Akkranand Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education, presided over the Buddhist funeral rites for Ms. Paphatsara Ruangrit, a civil servant teacher at Sukuntharam School, who died in the tragic shooting incident in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

Executives and staff attended together to pay their respects, including Dr. Linthiporn Warinwatcharot and Khun Paramee Waichongjaroen. The atmosphere was filled with sorrow from family, relatives, fellow teachers, students, and many members of the public who came to honor teacher Paphatsara’s spirit.

Mr. Akkranand spoke to encourage the bereaved family and assured that the Ministry of Education would provide full support. He personally committed to offering scholarships of 10,000 baht per year for each of teacher Paphatsara’s two children, continuing until they graduate from grade 12. This aims to alleviate their burden and help secure a future for the children who lost their mother suddenly.

The Deputy Minister expressed deep sadness, stating that teacher Paphatsara’s passing was not only a great loss to the Ruangrit family but also a loss of a quality staff member for the Ministry of Education.

“Teacher Paphatsara was a dedicated, passionate educator with a full spirit of teaching. This incident deeply saddens all of us at the Ministry of Education. We pay tribute to her goodness and her commitment to duty until her final moments,” Mr. Akkranand concluded.
