
Prime Minister Anutin has appointed Weeraphong Prapha, former trade representative during the Paethongtarn government, as an advisor to the Prime Minister to serve as Thailand's trade representative.
On 28 April 2026, reporters reported that on 27 April, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul signed Prime Minister's Office Order No. 104/2569 regarding the appointment of distinguished experts as advisors to the Prime Minister to serve as Thailand's trade representatives. Under the authority of Section 11(6) of the State Administration Act B.E. 2534 (1991) and Clause 4 of the Prime Minister's Office regulations on Thai trade representatives B.E. 2552 (2009), as amended by the 2nd amendment in B.E. 2552, three distinguished experts were appointed as advisors to the Prime Minister to act as Thailand's trade representatives as follows.
1. Mrs. Nongnuch Petchrat
2. Mr. Chutinthorn Kongsak
3. Mr. Weeraphong Prapha
These appointments take effect immediately, ordered on 27 April 2026.
Reporters noted that Mr. Weeraphong Prapha previously served as deputy leader of the Democrat Party (responsible for international economic affairs) and was an advisor to the Prime Minister in Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra's government, acting as Thailand's trade representative responsible for trade negotiations with the European Union (EU) and the United States.
