
Prime Minister Anutin presided over the 2025 Royal Decoration ceremony, awarding honors to Cabinet members, heads of ministerial-level agencies or equivalents, provincial governors, and officials of the Prime Minister's Office.
On 28 Apr 2026 GMT+7 at 08:50 a.m. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the ceremony for receiving the 2025 Royal Decorations for Cabinet members, heads of ministerial-level agencies or equivalents, senior executives of the Ministry of Interior, provincial governors, and officials of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister at Phakdi Bodin Building, Government House.
His Majesty the King graciously bestowed royal decorations in the order of sashes and lower classes for the year 2025. This was on the occasion of the Royal Birthday Ceremony on 28 July 2025, with the list of recipients published in the Royal Gazette (read more:Royal Decorations bestowed on 20,141 recipients including Phumtham, Sabida, and former ministers).The Secretariat of the Cabinet instructed agencies to organize ceremonies to receive the royal decorations in front of the King's portrait at appropriate venues.
Today's ceremony included 59 recipients comprising Cabinet members, heads of ministerial-level agencies or equivalents, senior executives of the Ministry of Interior, provincial governors, and officials from the Secretariat of the Cabinet, the Prime Minister's Office, and the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister, all receiving the decorations before the King's portrait, categorized as follows:
Sash-class royal decorations included Ekniti Nitithanprapas (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance) awarded the Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant, Worasit Liangprasit (Deputy Minister of Interior) awarded the Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant, and Ms. Sabida Thaiset (Minister of Culture) awarded the Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand.
Lower-than-sash class royal decorations included Akaranat Kankittinan (Deputy Minister of Education) and Watcharapol Khawkhum (Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives) awarded the Knight Commander (Second Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant, and Ms. Suksamruay Wantaniyukul (Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office) awarded the Knight Commander (Second Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand.
Civil servants at the senior executive level, heads of ministerial-level agencies or equivalents, awarded the Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant included Yupa Taweewattanakitboworn, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office; Thanat Suwannanon, Director of the National Intelligence Agency; Anan Kaewkamnerd, Director of the Budget Bureau; Chayan Meungsong, Secretary-General of the National Water Resources Office; Suporn Treenarin, Secretary-General of the Special Committee for Coordinating Royal Projects; Thepsu Bawornchotidara, Secretary-General of the Anti-Money Laundering Office; Phumvisal Kasemsuk, Secretary-General of the Office of Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission; Prawit Eraworn, Secretary-General of the Education Council, Ministry of Education; Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Natriya Taweewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, among others.
Among senior executives of the Ministry of Interior, one recipient received the sash-class decoration, the Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant: Worasit Liangprasit, Deputy Minister of Interior. Eleven others received the Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant, including Arsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior; Chaiwat Chuenkosum, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior; Siam Sirimongkol, Director-General of the Community Development Department; Nattawat Viriyanapaporn, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Interior; Nirat Pongsitthaworn, Governor of Phuket; Montisit Paisanthanawat, Governor of Chanthaburi; Kiattisak Trongsiri, Governor of Phitsanulok; Khajornkiat Rakpanichmanee, Governor of Khon Kaen; Natthapong Sanguanjit, Governor of Suphan Buri; Patimoh Sadeyamu, Governor of Pattani; and Chamnarnwit Terat, former Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior.
Receiving a royal decoration is a mark of honor graciously bestowed by His Majesty the King upon those who have rendered meritorious service to the nation. It reflects their dedication to serving the people and honors their distinguished contributions to the country.
