Cabinet Approves 344 Million Baht Subsidy for Consumer Council to Strengthen Rights Protection

Today, the Cabinet approved the 2570 fiscal year budget, authorizing an annual lump-sum subsidy of 344 million baht to the Consumer Organizations Council to strengthen rights protection efforts.


On 28 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the Cabinet resolved to approve a framework for the annual lump-sum subsidy allocation to the Consumer Organizations Council, totaling 344.17 million baht in the 2570 fiscal year budget, pursuant to Section 16 of the Consumer Organizations Council Establishment Act, 2019.

The Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office (OPSPMO) will prepare the budget proposal to allocate the annual lump-sum subsidy to the Consumer Organizations Council within its 2570 fiscal year budget request.

The seven program plans are as follows:

1. Consumer Rights Protection and Advocacy Plan, comprising 6 projects/sub-activities.

2. Policy Development Plan for Consumer Protection, comprising 6 projects/sub-activities.

3. Plan to Strengthen Members and Consumer Organizations Across All Provinces, comprising 13 projects/sub-activities.

4. Plan for Provincial and Regional Units of the Consumer Organizations Council, comprising 14 projects/sub-activities.

5. Communication Plan for Consumer Protection, comprising 5 projects/sub-activities.

6. Plan for Development and Management of the Consumer Organizations Council, comprising 16 projects/sub-activities.

7. Plan to Develop Support Mechanisms to Drive the Consumer Organizations Council, comprising 18 projects/sub-activities.
