Democrat Party Launches Free Volunteer Lawyer Legal Clinics Across Four Regions

The Democrat Party has launched "Volunteer Lawyer Legal Clinics" offering free services in four regions to intellectually equip citizens with awareness.

At 4:30 p.m. on 28 Apr 2026 at the Democrat Party (DP), Chaiyachana Decho, a party-list MP and deputy party leader overseeing the southern region, revealed after the weekly party MP meeting that party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva assigned him to establish a legal service center to receive complaints or cases of injustice from the public. This is the "Democrat Party Volunteer Lawyer Legal Clinic Project." The clinics will provide legal consultations across all four regions, starting in the south at Phang Nga Province. Some participants are former party MP candidates who are professional lawyers, offering case management and educating the public on issues like scammer gangs, land law, criminal law, civil and commercial law, and cases of exploitation by government agencies. The service aims to reach all regions nationwide at no cost. Currently, about 30 lawyers have volunteered for the Democrat Party legal clinic team. Each week, a rotating team of volunteer lawyers will visit branches in the provinces of each region to provide services.

Intellectual Empowerment

"Currently, the public has fewer resources for legal rights and justice. If citizens receive proper legal advice and good communication, they can use this information to fight for their rights. For example, when people fall victim to scammer gangs or call center fraud causing financial loss, they often cannot directly file a complaint at their local police station. They must first contact the AOT agency to obtain a case number, which victims then use to report to the police for further action," explained Chaiyachana. Chaiyachana Decho said.
