The Prachachon Party unveiled its shadow cabinet, dividing responsibilities into four sectors: Veerayut overseeing the new economy, Decharat in charge of the new quality of life, Pichon managing new security, and Sirikanya leading state reform. They plan to hold regular weekly meetings and have proposed four urgent agendas urging the government to act immediately.
On 29 Apr 2026 GMT+7, the Prachachon Party, led by party leader Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, held a press conference at the House of Representatives to introduce the “shadow cabinet.” They declared an upgrade in their government oversight efforts and presented alternative policies to preserve hope for Thai society amid the global energy crisis severely impacting Thailand's economy and people's livelihoods.
The management duties are divided into four main areas:
New Economy sector led by Mr. Veerayut Kanjuchat.
New Quality of Life sector led by Mr. Decharat Sukkamnerd.
New Security sector led by Mr. Pichon Chaowaphatwong.
State Reform sector led by Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul.
At today’s launch, the shadow cabinet team proposed “four urgent agendas” demanding immediate government action. These are the issues the Prachachon Party will closely monitor over the next month.
1. Relief Measures: The Thai Helps Thai Plus program and public aid must not leave anyone behind, especially support for farmers, fishermen, and transport operators.
2. Electricity Costs: The government must not address the high electricity prices superficially by shifting the burden onto citizens. It should negotiate to reduce the cost-to-pay and dismantle the quota ceiling on purchasing electricity from community solar projects.
3. Land Bridge Project: The government must reassess the Land Bridge project and review the enactment of the SEC Act, starting with goals to develop the southern region’s economy and quality of life.
4. Breath of Life: The government must revive two important pending bills protecting Thai citizens' air quality—the Clean Air Bill and the Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) Bill—and move them forward by 12 May.
The Prachachon Party's shadow cabinet will hold weekly meetings to monitor government decisions by Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, exposing their impacts on various groups. They will also propose alternatives prioritizing public benefit to guide Thailand fairly through this crisis toward a hopeful future.
