Anutin Stops by Sparrows Nest to Greet Government House Media, Brews Green Tea, Shows Eco-Friendly Leadership by Disposing Trash Himself

Anutin stopped by the Sparrow's Nest to greet media at Government House, brewed green tea, and demonstrated eco-friendly leadership by personally disposing of his trash, insisting he never lets others do it. Meanwhile, the government spokesperson team and ministers shared a meal with the media to strengthen close relations.

At 12:00 noon on 29 Apr 2026 at Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul descended from the Thai Khu Fah Building’s rear entrance to the area in front of the journalists' quarters (Sparrow's Nest), near the Naree Samosorn Building. He stopped to greet the media and the Prime Minister's Office spokesperson team, who together with the Secretariat of the Prime Minister organized a media relations activity and met with the permanent press corps at Government House.

The Prime Minister stopped to eat fruit and ice cream before brewing and drinking green tea himself. While scooping ice cream, he told reporters, “Ginkgo nuts help memory. My father made me eat them every morning.” He then turned to joke with Gen. Kriangkrai Srirak, Deputy President of the Senate, who told him, “Brother Nu, I eat ginkgo nuts every day and my memory is good.” After this, Gen. Kriangkrai asked his wife, “Did you eat yours this morning?” which drew laughter from the media and the government spokesperson team.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister told reporters that he probably would not stay to chat as he needed to return upstairs to clear pending work in the Thai Khu Fah Building. He said he just stopped by to greet and eat ice cream.

Reporters also noted that after the Prime Minister finished his ice cream, staff tried to take the cup to dispose of it, but the Prime Minister said, “No need.” He then walked to the trash bin and threw it away himself before saying, “I always throw away my own trash. I’ve never let anyone do it for me. Even when I find trash on the street, I bend down and pick it up to dispose of it myself.”

Before the Prime Minister descended from the Thai Khu Fah Building, the government spokesperson team led by Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office; Lalida Pertvivattana and Ploytale Laksameesangchan, deputy spokespersons; along with Second Lieutenant Phatdarasmit Thongsaluaykong, deputy spokesperson-designate, sat down to eat and talk with the media. Also present dining with the media were Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office; Pradorn Prissanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office; and Traisulee Traisoranakul, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister.
