Government Spokesperson Team Unites for Fast, Targeted Communication Launches New Program to Showcase Government Achievements

The government spokesperson team affirms working as one, communicating quickly and accurately. They are reviving "Voices from the Heart of Thai Khu Fah" starting 1 May and launching the program "Clear Talk with the Spokesperson" to explain government work, beginning 16 May.

At 12:15 p.m. on 29 April 2026 at the Government House, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, led the team including Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatthana and Ms. Ploytale Laksameesangchan, deputy spokespersons, and Second Lieutenant Phatdarasmi Thongsaluaykorn, acting deputy spokesperson, to hold a media relations event and meet with the Government House press.

Ms. Ratchada said that from her experience working with the media since the government of former Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha, she has been very happy. She thanked the media for being a communication channel to the public, noting that if only the government spokesperson team communicated, they could not reach the people with what they want to convey. Now that all four of them are together, they will work as a team — a female team of Nareesamors club — providing full information on all aspects.

Ms. Ratchada added that the information the spokesperson team communicates must be accurate. If supporting documents are delayed, the public should understand that official details need adjustment to align with policies. Their goal is to communicate quickly but accurately.

She further said that interviews with the Prime Minister should adhere to the policy of one per week. However, if there is an important issue or agenda the Prime Minister deems necessary to clarify, he will be invited to explain. If the Prime Minister declines interviews, the spokesperson team will consider and provide explanations instead, as some matters require careful thought about how much to disclose. Not everything should be addressed by the Prime Minister daily. While people want news from him, communication principles dictate that no leader speaks every day. They should speak on appropriate issues and at the right times. This principle should be followed.

“Our intention today is not to work for ourselves or any particular government, but to build the government spokesperson team as the main communication channel. We emphasize teamwork. One thing we agreed on is that there is a social perception that women cannot work together without conflict, but the four of us will be a new case demonstrating we can work happily and as a team, sharing the same mission to communicate positive messages to the public. Today, we will establish the foundation and working style, highlighting the spokesperson office.”

Ms. Ratchada also addressed the division of work among the deputy government spokespersons, noting that although three come from the Bhumjaithai Party and one from the Pheu Thai Party, they share a common goal of communicating accurate information to the public. There will be no issue of party-based assignments. For political matters, Second Lieutenant Phatdarasmi will focus on ministries related to Pheu Thai, Ms. Lalida on public health and resources, and Ms. Ploytale on transport and tourism. For general issues, they will assist each other, as one person alone cannot handle all communications.

Ms. Ratchada said the spokesperson team will also present government work results and ongoing missions through the program “Clear Talk with the Spokesperson,” starting broadcast on 16 May, and “Voices from the Heart of Thai Khu Fah,” beginning 1 May. In “Voices from the Heart of Thai Khu Fah,” government spokespersons will take turns briefing on work results in one-minute segments aired daily at 7:00 a.m.
