The Minister and Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society held talks with Pradorn concerning the transfer of the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA) back under the Ministry's jurisdiction. The discussion proceeded smoothly, with a preliminary agreement and no objections.
On 30 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Nan Bunyathida Somchai, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DE), disclosed after a meeting with Mr. Chaiyachon Chidchop, Minister of DE, and Mr. Pradorn Prissanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office—who was assigned by the Prime Minister to oversee the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA)—that they discussed transferring the DGA back under the Ministry of DE's supervision.
Ms. Nan stated that the meeting concluded with a preliminary agreement; the DGA agreed in principle and had no objections, recognizing that the country's digital affairs should progress in a unified direction.
“The Prime Minister's Office raised no conflicts. As the receiving agency, the Ministry of DE is currently reviewing relevant legal matters. It is not yet certain when the transfer process will be completed, but it will be expedited as much as possible,” she added.
The next step is for the Ministry of DE to submit a proposal to the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) for approval before presenting it to the Cabinet for preliminary endorsement.
