Kulaya tearfully bids farewell to revenue officials, urging them to work together as a team to make the Revenue Department stronger. The emotional moment reflected deep gratitude and hope for unity.
At 4:30 p.m. on 30 Apr 2026 GMT+7, reporter coverage noted that Ms. Kulaya Tantitemit, the first female Director-General of the Revenue Department, officially bid farewell to civil servants as she resigned from government service effective 1 May 2026 GMT+7. Revenue officials and staff gathered warmly to present roses and take commemorative photos. Ms. Kulaya tearfully expressed, “The tears I shed are tears of happiness, born from the heartfelt warmth shared by Revenue colleagues across all 12 regions and the central office throughout.”
“Over my 25 years as a civil servant, I can honestly say I have been straightforward and gave my all. I have always believed that if civil servants work for the people and the public good, setting aside personal gain, everything will run smoothly. I want to leave this as encouragement to all who continue their duties, both in the Revenue Department and the Ministry of Finance. Most importantly, take care of your health, maintain work-life balance, and work with happiness in the spirit of Work Hard, Play Hard.”
Ms. Kulaya emphasized the importance of "health" as the greatest matter. No matter how successful or wealthy we become, without good health, all happiness vanishes. She also reminded everyone to value family and friends because on days of success, if they are not there to celebrate with us, that success loses its meaning.
Finally, she urged everyone to work together as a team, encouraging managers to care for their subordinates and colleagues to support one another, strengthening the Revenue Department to remain a key pillar for the nation. She expressed sincere thanks once again for the opportunity to work together, from the bottom of her heart.
