Yutthana Sritabut confirmed that the Palang Pracharath Party remains determined to continue, quashing rumors of merging with Bhumjaithai following 'Big Pom's' political withdrawal. He revealed that General Prawit Wongsuwan still serves as an advisor, providing guidance to party members.
On 1 May 2026, Yutthana Sritabut, Member of Parliament for Nong Khai and party secretary and spokesperson, clarified the rumors about merging with the Bhumjaithai Party were untrue. He said it was simply a normal coalition. The party will continue its work. General Prawit Wongsuwan, chairman of the Palang Pracharath advisory board, has stepped back from politics but still acts as an advisor offering guidance. He acknowledged the party must adapt, with its current goal to support various policies and promote laws beneficial to the people.
At the same time, the party has appointed Ms. Pawarisa Srichayangkura, a younger generation member, as party director to drive progress and restructure the party, including relocating the headquarters to fit the current five MPs.
Yutthana said the party will continue under the leadership of Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, the party leader with extensive political experience, who remains committed to working within Palang Pracharath. He emphasized the party’s clear stance to uphold its role as a coalition partner working for the people and to continue its political efforts within Palang Pracharath.
When asked if Palang Pracharath would contest the next election, Yutthana said the party still firmly intends to continue its activities as originally established, noting that there are over three years left in the political term. He added that, given the political experience and ages of the party leader and MPs, they are still capable of continuing political work.
