The Minister of Commerce launched the “Thai Help Thai Phase 2” project to upgrade Thai SME products and involve mobile vendors to distribute goods directly to people's homes, lowering living costs.
On 1 May 2026, Mrs. Supachai Suthammanphun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, visited Bangyai City Market to kick off the “Thai Help Thai Phase 2” project. The initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on citizens while elevating Thai SME products to FDA and Thai Industrial Standards Institute certifications, focusing on creating balance between large and small entrepreneurs to grow together.
Mrs. Supachai outlined support measures for mobile vendors, stating that the government will provide “fuel cards” to help reduce transportation costs. She also coordinated with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to use the nationwide Thai postal network as collection and distribution points for goods that mobile vendors will deliver. She emphasized that this policy will support small community members to increase their income alongside sustainably managing market mechanisms for system-wide balance.
Mr. Narucha Kosasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, revealed readiness at the local level through 887 districts nationwide to serve as points for selling quality goods at affordable prices from department stores and communities. Furthermore, there are plans to aggressively expand in the next phase via the “mobile vendor network” to distribute products down to alleys and villages. Currently, surveys are underway and registration is open for those interested in joining the project until 17 May.
