The Minister of Agriculture has ordered all agencies to conduct on-site surveys of damage, focusing especially on durian orchards struck by the storm, and instructed cooperative networks to purchase fallen durians for processing.
On 1 May 2026, Mr. Suriya Jungrungreangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, revealed that the recent seasonal storms damaging many areas have severely impacted agricultural crops. In particular, durians near harvest in Chanthaburi Province were damaged and fell prematurely. He has ordered relevant agencies to promptly survey and report to the Disaster Monitoring Center for the fastest possible assistance.
Regarding relief measures for farmers, Mr. Suriya assigned urgent actions to set up collection points and coordinate with cooperative networks to buy fallen durians that are still of good quality for processing into fried durian and durian paste. He also instructed officials to strictly prevent immature or low-quality durians from entering the market.
Mr. Winaroj Subsongsuk, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, stated that staff have been mobilized to assist in the areas of crops, fisheries, and livestock. He also warned farmers in at-risk areas across the North, Northeast, Central, and Eastern regions to remain vigilant 24 hours a day.
Additionally, farmers can request assistance at the “Pirunrat” (One Stop Service) Agricultural Service Centers located at district agricultural offices nationwide, or follow updates via the application to access rapid and comprehensive help at a single point during this important fruit season.
