Akkharasaenkiri Urges Anutin to Expedite Establishment of New District on Phu Laen Kha Mountain to Stop Locals from Waiting in Vain

"Akkharasaenkiri," MP for Chaiyaphum from the Kla Tham Party, has urged Prime Minister Anutin to promptly establish a new district on Phu Laen Kha Mountain. The proposal has already passed from the provincial level to the Ministry of Interior but has seen no progress. He stressed that the new district would transform the lives of local residents and urged officials not to let them wait in vain.,

On 2 May 2026, reporters reported that on 1 May, Akkharasaenkiri Lohveera, MP for Chaiyaphum District 7 of the Kla Tham Party, revealed that he had raised the issue in the House of Representatives with Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul to follow up on the progress of the consideration for establishing a new district covering four subdistricts on the Phu Laen Kha mountain range: Kaoya Dee, Thamafaiwan, Sub Sitong, and Tahinnom.

Akkharasaenkiri said these four subdistricts are located on a high mountain range, bordering Mueang and Kaeng Khro districts. The area boasts many important tourist attractions, including Tat Ton Waterfall, Mo Hin Khao, Pha Hua Nak, Wat Phra That Chaiyaphum, and the ancient Prong forest. It is also a key cultivation area for economic crops such as rubber, pineapple, and longan, which have significantly contributed to Chaiyaphum's economy.

However, tens of thousands of residents in these four subdistricts on Phu Laen Kha mountain have long faced difficulties in their daily lives, especially patients who must travel down the mountain for over 40 minutes to receive dialysis or medical care, or those needing to file complaints with officials. Even general administrative tasks require time-consuming travel, imposing both time and financial burdens. The roads are winding and rough, lack street lighting, and have led to numerous accidents while traveling down the mountain.

Therefore, establishing a new district in these four subdistricts on Phu Laen Kha Mountain represents hope for local residents to overcome hardship, gain equal access to government services, and genuinely stimulate the local economy.

Currently, the new district proposal has completed the provincial-level process and is under review by the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior. He urged the Minister of Interior to expedite consideration and reach a conclusion promptly.
