Sukit Unconcerned Over Ruangkrais Complaint Against Suriya, Confident All Procedures Followed, No Impact on Ministry Work

Sukit Srichomkwan believes there should be no problem with Ruangkrai submitting a complaint to the Election Commission accusing Suriya over the transfer of Director-General Rachen. He is confident everything was done according to the proper procedures and that it will not be an issue or affect the Ministry of Agriculture's work.

On 2 May 2026, Sukit Srichomkwan, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs and spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party, spoke regarding lawyer Ruangkrai Luekitwattana's complaint to the Election Commission (EC). The complaint requests the EC to investigate and forward the case to the Constitutional Court to consider whether Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Suriya Jungroongruangkit's transfer of Rachen Silparaya from Director-General of the Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation Department to Inspector General of the Ministry constitutes a serious violation of ethical standards warranting removal from ministerial office. Sukit urged the public to closely follow the facts of the matter. He noted that since Pheu Thai was approached to join the government, they were aware of the need to expedite the preparation of the 2027 budget to align with government policies and campaign promises. Discussions with government agencies were therefore normal. He denied claims that relatives were summoned to review the budget, stating this was untrue. Regarding Ruangkrai's complaint to the EC, he does not anticipate any problems, as the Ministry of Agriculture followed all proper procedures. He is confident this will not affect the ministry's ability to carry out its work.
