The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) sent a letter notifying Watchara Petchthong of its finding that former Bhumjaithai MP Srisapong from Krabi Province committed serious ethical violations by encroaching on Agricultural Land Reform Office (ALRO) land, and confirmed it will forward the case to the Supreme Court for judgment.
On 2 May 2026, former Democrat MP Watchara Petchthong revealed he received a letter from the NACC, reference number ปช 0022/0183 dated 22 April 2026, informing him of the commission's decision. The letter was signed by Ms. Duangkamol Charoenruk Wongsawat, Director of the Political and Administrative Corruption Investigation Bureau 1, acting on behalf of the NACC Secretary-General.
The letter referred to a complaint dated 15 November 2021, in which Watchara accused Mr. Srisapong, then a Member of Parliament, of serious ethical violations. The allegations pertain to possession and utilization of ALRO land, title deed number 5, survey numbers 162/49 (100 rai) and 164/49 (100 rai), located in Huay Yung Subdistrict, Nuea Khlong District, Krabi Province. Further details were provided in the complaint.
The NACC office stated that after investigating the facts, the commission resolved that Mr. Srisapong committed offenses including placing personal interests above national interests, failing to perform duties honestly, seeking improper benefits for himself or others, or allowing others to misuse his position for improper gain. His actions also brought dishonor to his office, constituting serious violations of ethical standards under the Constitution Court and Independent Organizations Ethics Code Act (2018), specifically Articles 7, 8, 17, and 27. Additionally, he failed to perform duties honestly and selflessly, neglecting the nation's and public's best interests, and damaged the reputation of the House of Representatives as outlined in the House of Representatives' Ethics Code (2020), Articles 8, 10, and 29. Consequently, the NACC will submit the case against Mr. Srisapong to the Supreme Court for adjudication under Section 87 of the Anti-Corruption Act (2018).
