3 May 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Ekwanruyu Amrapal, spokesperson for Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and assistant secretary to the Governor of Bangkok, explained after images appeared on social media showing individuals interested in running for Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMA Council) seats gradually unveiling themselves, using green-colored text images similar to those of Mr. Chatchart Sitthipunt, Governor of Bangkok, that many have inquired whether Governor Chatchart Sitthipunt has endorsed any BMA Council candidates in this election, as some candidates have used images, colors, slogans, or elements closely resembling the Governor's previous campaign.
"I would like to clarify that Governor Chatchart is still in office and has never announced support for any BMA Council candidate. This is to maintain propriety, neutrality, and impartiality during his tenure as Governor of Bangkok. Regarding candidates using green colors or the name 'Chatchart,' this may be due to their belief that they can effectively collaborate with the Governor."
