Komson Phanwisitkul declared it is time for "Bangkok to Move On," announcing his readiness to run for Bangkok governor to enhance the quality of life for city residents. He emphasized his wish to see the city free from stale politics and hinted at a forthcoming clear statement.
3 May 2026 GMT+7 Komson Phanwisitkul, leader of the Ready to Develop Party, posted a message viaFacebookexplaining that the three months of silence were spent listening to voices that had gone unheard. In June 2025, he launched his intention to run for Bangkok governor as an independent because he did not want anyone to dictate or control him into actions he should not take or to exploit benefits improperly.
Komson added that he previously served as a member of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC), working alongside the Bangkok governor and officials, which gave him an understanding of the administrative system and the ability to coordinate with all parties, including the 50 district offices. His slogan is that it is time for "Bangkok to Move On," a vision grounded not in grandiose or frivolous ideas to create buzz but in a deep understanding of the lives of Bangkok residents.
"I live with reality, not imagination or beautiful rhetoric that is nonsense, idle talk with no follow-through. For me, moving on means moving forward by listening, understanding problems, deeply grasping daily life, reaching the core, and feeling the realities of Bangkok residents—whether born or raised here—and then pushing to implement beneficial actions. Moving beyond the stagnant points that have never improved the quality of life for people in Bangkok, whether regarding livelihoods, living conditions, or the environment, by allocating budgets appropriately for each area to achieve maximum benefit."
He further revealed that his intention is to work on a national scale, volunteering to improve quality of life, promote ethics, morality, and integrity, and restore the image of politicians to regain the trust and confidence of the public. Although he is a small, unknown politician without a powerful family, deep pockets, a major political party, or gray networks backing him, his 21 years of experience have taught him how to drive progress. He is ready to develop with commitment, simply wanting to see the country rid itself of stale, outdated politics.
Later, Komson disclosed that a clear announcement will be made soon and that if given the chance to run, he is prepared to collaborate with all parties.
