
Jetrat visited Uthai Thani to provide relief to victims of seasonal storms and personally donated funds to assist schools. Meanwhile, the Director of Uthai Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 inspected storm damage to schools and expedited relief and repair budget efforts.
On 3 May 2026 in Uthai Thani Province, seasonal storms struck multiple areas, causing extensive damage to residents' homes and schools, especially in Taluk Du Subdistrict which was heavily affected. At 16:00 on 3 May 2026, Mr. Jetrat Thaiset, Deputy Minister of the Interior, visited Khao Wat Pathawi School and Ban Wang Toei School, Ban Sali branch, to assess damage and encourage teachers. He also donated personal funds to support both schools initially. Additionally, he promptly ordered Taluk Du Municipality to set up a disaster relief center and mobilize staff from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and Territorial Defense Volunteers to assist all affected households. Community leaders were urged to quickly compile damage reports to submit for provincial approval of relief budgets according to official procedures.
Director of Primary Education Office Accelerates Damage Assessment
On the same day, Ms. Kulthida Onmee, Director of Uthai Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, along with administrators, visited affiliated schools and found two schools damaged: Khao Pathawi School suffered severe damage to its classroom buildings, and Ban Wang Toei School's Ban Sali branch had damage to its cafeteria building. Regarding solutions, the Director stated that repair contractors were contacted to estimate damage costs to expedite budget requests for repairs to restore usability as soon as possible. Concerning concerns about school reopening, she assured that all students would have learning spaces. Plans include using other buildings and the kindergarten building, which remain functional, for temporary teaching arrangements. She asked parents not to worry.
