Nattachon claimed his hand slipped causing him to leave the Bhumjaithai Party MPs' Line group. He denied any resentment and viewed the event as a good chance to clear the air with the party leader and secretary, seeing it as an opportunity to increase his work within the party.
On 4 May 2026 at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Nattachon Srikokkeua, MP for Songkhla from Bhumjaithai, explained his exit from the party's Line group. He said he manages about 1,000 Line chats and belongs to many groups, including the 25th and 26th MP groups and the original Southern MPs group, from which he has also exited. Previously, he mistakenly sent messages to wrong groups, which is easy given the many groups he is in. Sometimes he intended to send to a smaller group but sent to a larger one instead. After such mistakes, he accepted it. He stressed that his exit was not due to resentment but aligned with earlier agreements regarding committee assignments.
Nattachon continued that after leaving the group, it was handled by party procedures—not the prime minister’s or the party secretary’s responsibility to invite him back. Instead, the House Coordination Committee (government whip team) inquired about his exit. After he explained to the whip team, they invited him back to the Line group. There were no other factors involved.
When asked if his exit was due to resentment, Nattachon said no. He emphasized that prior agreements were in place. He said politicians shouldn’t just protect their image or ask why they didn’t get certain positions; they must also protect their own lives. This is his political philosophy. Whether or not his exit was accidental or intentional, he has since been given more responsibilities by the party’s executive committee, party leader, and the government whip team, including coordination work in the House and extra-parliamentary tasks. He considers the accidental exit a chance to expand his work for the party.
When asked to clarify the prior agreements, Nattachon said there was no specific agreement. Communication within the party is often limited to party meetings, making direct discussion with party executives difficult. After the Line exit, the party leader and secretary met with him and said to inform them if he had any concerns. This opened a channel for him to communicate openly.
When asked if the party leader or secretary promised him any future position, Nattachon said no. He said he will focus on his duties related to the upcoming loan decree and the 2027 budget, especially concerning the land bridge issue. His home province, Songkhla, will be less affected, but friends on the Andaman coast and upper southern region will be more impacted. It is their duty to communicate this to the people.
